I heart the Superbowl but not for the actual football (who needs the pads?? Go play some rugby!)… it’s all about the Ads.
The ads, which cost about as much as theĀ GDP of Luxumbourg, can make or break a brand – think back to Monster.com vs. hotjobs at the 1999 Superbowl. Both companies made their bet on the Superbowl as the only TV spot they would take all year – a great piece of emotional advertising paid off for Monster.com whilst hotjobs.com took a more boring stance and went bankrupt…
Anyway, I wanted to share with you my top 3 of 2010… wonder if any will win at Cannes this year…
3. E-Trade Baby - So funny but I think this might be starting to run out….still credit is due this year!
2. Doritos: Play Nice – Great idea, Great drama (even funnier for brits as it looks like the kid swears at the guy with 2 fingers – a curse in the UK that is worse than giving 1 finger)
1. Google.com - LOVE IT. Not only do I love Google for advertising at the superbowl, but the advert is great. A fantastic insight on how life would not be the same without Google, it is changing the way that we think about a search engine …plus AMAZING use of music.

I loved the Google one, too. I thought it was a great shot at Bing.
